where did the weekend go?

we had a wonderful whirlwind of a weekend, the highlight of which was a visit by my grandparents. they made the trek up from salt lake to see us with a most beautiful bed in tow...a wedding gift, handcrafted with love by papa shep. it's not quite set up yet, but above is a sneak peek as it (all 100 lbs) was being loaded up for transfer to its new home...56 stairs up in our fourth floor apartment. have i mentioned that we have no elevator? it was worth it.

after the bed haulin', we gave gramps and grama the tour of the town and then spent the night with them at their campsite at near-by stub stewart state park. other notable moments include a rousing game of skip-bo (as usual, grandpa smoked us all), lupine gazing (absolutely breath-taking--like a whisper over the hills), and waking in our tent at 2 a.m. to the sound of wild animals (my money's on a raccoon.)

it all went by way too fast and we're now wishing we had another weekend just to wind down from all the activity. what can i say? the grandparents totally wore us out!
