Hippity hoppity.

A quick, poorly punctuated, look back at a wonderful Easter before the memories slip off into the ether.

We woke early and donned our traditional tie-dye shirts and ventured out to start the day with an amazing brunch hosted by amazing friends.

Helped them welcome four new chicks to their coop (Avie got to name one! We chose 'Hazel' as an homage to the origin of Avie's own name.) Sat in the sun and marveled at the fact that spring always seems to come back just when you've lost all hope for its return. Gaped at it's never-grows-old way of making the trees say 'ta-da' with their blossoms. Then packed up and headed home for a long family nap in the sun. So delicious.

We ended the evening with Avie's first official solid food. Apples. What fun! The girl went after them with gusto.

The meal was made even more special by the serving dish...purchased many moons ago by my own mama for me as a babe. She never used it. Thought it was too nice. Lucky for us, her philosophy has changed over the years. She's now more of an "eat off the china" kinda woman, so she sent the still-in-its-original-package Peter Rabbit set up for her first grandbaby to enjoy. Thanks nana!
