Breakfast with Nana.

We were so lucky that Avie's birth story transpired in a way that allowed my mom to make it up for the big moment. And the blessings continued, as 'Nana' was able to stay with us for two whole weeks.

'Grateful' does not begin to describe what we feel for the gift of her presence...for the scrumptious dinners, for taking the morning shift so we could get a few hours of sleep, for changing diapers and offering bath-time tutorials, for doing the laundry, buying groceries, for decorating the house to welcome us home. But most of all, our thanks to Nana for gently nudging us toward trusting ourselves as parents.

Nana took us all out for a lovely breakfast at Alberta's Petite Provence before she had to fly home. It was a bittersweet day to say the least. But though our bids to convince my mom that her new vocation should be 'live-in Nana!' (always said as an exclamation in an effort to be extra enticing) proved unsuccessful, her wisdom and love lingers in every room of our home.

How fortunate we are to share this life with such fabulous family. Love you, mom. We owe you more thanks than we have words for.

Look how stylish and beautiful that baby is - already rocking the NoPo scene. I was never that cool as a baby or a mama.

This post almost made me cry. I am so happy for "Nana" and you, Cec. Motherhood is an amazing journey, and I think we come to appreciate our mothers in a very new and big way when we become one. Love to you both!
